2008 - 2009

 Welcome to our 2008-2009 school year.   I hope you all had a great summer and are now ready to get back into a scheduled routine, if that is possible. I apologize to you for not getting this web page up to date sooner. Our class is up and moving.  I am certainly looking forward to working with your child this year.  We have been reviewing this entire week and we are about ready to move into new material.  Be looking for the memory book to be coming home on Monday.  Please work with your child to learn the memory verse for this coming week. 

I am encouraging the first graders to read, read, read.  There are several ways they can do this.  They can read to you, you can read to them, you and your child can take turns reading page by page.  When you have completed the book please write the title of the book on a piece of paper and send it to school with your child.  I will then give them a "star sticker" to be placed on the bulletin board in our cove area on their specific book.  Hopefully this will encourage them to spend some time either reading to you or you reading to them.  

REMINDERS

1.  Sept. 4th - The Rescheduled Back To School Bash - Alma Water Park 6:00-8:00 P.M.  Come join the fun!

2.  I am still missing 4 Family Circles - please complete and send with your child. 

3.  I am still looking for several family pictures to hang on our family tree.

4.  The memory book will come home on Monday to be returned on Friday.

     Have a safe and relaxing weekend.  I would like to extend an invitation to come and worship with us at First Lutheran Church, if  you do not have a church home.  We are located downtown on the corner of 12th and D Street.  Our services are at 8:00 A.M. & 10:45 A.M.   We also have a worship service at the school on Wednesday evening at 6:30 P.M.  You are certainly welcome to come and join us.
