Mr. Pralle,
It’s an honor for to be a graduate family of 1st Lutheran School and pre-school. Our family has a unique perspective as we have experienced the offerings of 3 private elementary schools in Fort Smith. Whenever asked by friends for school recommendation we always recommend FLS and FLPS.
The staff at FLS re-entered our lives in our son’s 5th grade year. We were so happy to find a school environment that was so much like a family. Every teacher and every child knowing each other in a true and personal way, not just an exchange of greetings… but really speaking and being interested in one another.
The results of our son’s experiences with FLS are an excellent elementary education; an ability to relate to teachers; self-confidence; and the ability to ask adults for assistance when faced with hard to understand tasks. It is the close relationship of the staff and children that make these kinds of results possible. We do not believe Andrew could have received these benefits in a large public school system that is unable to devote as much time to relationships as FLS. As parents of 5th graders you may be asking yourself if sending your child to one year of public elementary school is a better choice to give your child time to make friends before moving up to Jr. High. We would suggest to you that friends are important, but are not what will help your child successfully navigate this major transition. The true compass will be within your child which will derive is direction from the foundation laid by the friends and teachers that have bonded together and invested so much of themselves in these precious young years.
We wish you all the best,
We came to First Lutheran School two years ago when my daughter was in fifth grade. The small class size appealed to me and my daughter. The interaction between teacher and student was important to me.
While at First Lutheran she participated in Quiz Bowl, sports, and band. My daughter now has plans for the future and a goal to strive for. She wants to study music at UAFS and major in music education. She would like to be a music teacher, band director or a member of a symphony orchestra. The possibilities are endless.
I truly believe that sending my daughter to First Lutheran School is one of the best decisions I have made. Thank you.
