Lutheran Women’s Missionary League
The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) is the official women’s auxiliary of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod. For over 65 years, the LWML has focused on affirming each woman’s relationship with Christ, encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to support global missions.
We are members of the Arkansas River Valley Zone of the Mid South District of LCMS. LWML is made up of four circles; Deborah, Esther, Martha, and Ruth. Each circle meets once a month and circles gather together four times a year for a combined league meeting. LWML supports many different outreaches and projects, including international, national, and local charities. We support these charities with such activities as; collecting mites, having fund raisers, sewing quilts, supporting the care van, and collecting in-gathering items.
We also serve our local congregation with special projects and programs, serve bereavement meals, sponsor special seasonal meals, sponsor the Altar Guild as well as a Christian Women’s Book Club, a Thursday prayer group, and make hospital and home visits. It is our goal to serve with a “mission heart.”
The mission of the LWML is to assist each woman of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod in affirming her relationship with the Triune God so that she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to the people of the world.
